Who could imagine that one of the best innovative house / detroit-house sound of the moment comes from East-Europe ? After Russian Anton Zap, let me introduce you Vakula, Ukrainian electronic artist who has signed some experimental warm & groovy underground-house tracks on Uzuri, then Quintessentials, Meakusma, before releasing a record on Firecracker in 2009. Two years ago, during my trip, I drove into a small place named Putivl, near the town of Konotop. There I realized how much I love Ukraine. Too many things in this land about history, secret past… And I wanted to create national hero Vakula, as in the old Ukrainian fairy tales.

[Fr] Workshop label night @ Rex Club / Move D live (full set video)

Alala depuis le temps qu’on l’attendait ! La légende Move D en chair et en os enfin de passage chez nous ! Depuis son retour sur la scène électronique en 2006 l’ancien locataire des labels Warp et Source avait voyagé et joué dj ou live dans le monde entier (la liste de ses bookings est assez impressionnante) sans que personne n’ait eu la bonne idée de lui proposer de faire escale en France, à Paris. Je ne vous cache pas que devant ce constat, au tout début des Parties Poum Tchak! (c’est à dire il n’y a vraiment pas longtemps), ma première priorité en toplist était d’inviter le sieur Moufang (David de son prénom) à venir caracoler ses grooves enivrants et chaleureux sur notre sol. Mais c’est désormais chose faite, au Rex Club, entouré de Lowtec, le patron du label berlinois Workshop, Even Tuell, et de leurs hôtes Alex & Lætitia de Katapult. Read the rest of this entry »

Cela fait déjà un moment que je souhaitais présenter ces disques assez éloignés de la culture club que l’on traite régulièrement sur Boing Poum Tchak!. Ici point de grooves detroit-house, electro, ou deep-techno dubby. Non. Plutôt un petit éclairage sur des genres complexes, moins accessibles, qui décapent les oreilles et laissent entrevoir de nouveaux horizons, loin des sentiers balisés et réguliers que nous sommes habitués à emprunter, cristallisés par quatre albums atypiques aux contrastes dubstep, ambiant, weird et neo-classic. Boing Poum Tchak! is an online electronic music magazine based in Paris since January 2005.

Boing Poum Tchak! is not an audioblog.

There is no illegal music to download here. Only mp3s from free netlabels are available and mixes. Audio samples are marked and / or in low-fi quality (80kbps / 45 sec max) or streamed from online record-shops.

Since February 2009, we organize small parties in bars named Party Poum Tchak!. Roger 23, Jacques from the Parisian Smallville shop, Break SL, and Leo Le Loup have already played with us.
